设计理念：
This design comes from the previous structure exercise. This was a 2-floor building situated in traditional district of Nanjing for public use, featuring its unique two different structural systems for two floors.
The idea was to show the beauty of the wooden structure with different color and texture of different types of marterials. With the use of traditional wood and bamboo elements, which responses to the site, not only does this design enforce the beauty of the rhythm brought by traditional wooden structure, but it also create a peaceful atmosphere among the noisy city life of old Nanjing downtown area.
The main materials used in the first floor are concrete and glass, deviding space in lines. This design is aimed for the closer relationship between the street and the iner courtyard.People on the street are atracted into the yard. As they wander in the fun space create by the concrete slabs and neat glass, they begin to explore the mutiple space of this achitecture.
The second floor are a variant of the traditional stucture which responses to the site.With the use of wood of different color and texture and the high windows on the roof, a quiet, peaceful and relaxing atmosphere has shaped. there are glass windows facing the yard to offer views.It also added with bamboo roller blinds to ensure privacy when necessery and enforce peaceful atmosphere while interact with light.
